Delilah's attempted jail-break
Soooooo... I was just reading threads about lost BPs the other day, and making mental notes in case Delilah ever escaped. She must have known, because she made her first jail-break last night! :O I could have SWORN I closed and locked the cage, but it must have gotten stuck and not locked, because she pushed it open a few inches. My roommate went into her room (where Delilah's caged), and I heard a shriek - "SHE'S GONE" - I ran in, and sure enough the snake was not in her cage!
We immediately started looking under and in everything, but my roommate's room is a total disaster right now... there's clothing everywhere, and I know snakes like to burrow in soft, warm areas. Finally I said to her, "think like a snake; where would you go if you were her?" Well, the desk where her viv is located is RIGHT next to a dresser on the wall, so I told my roomie to look behind the dresser. We pulled it out (CAREFULLY) a few inches, and lo & behold, there she was! She was completely pressed up against the wall, and had gotten herself tangled in some wires hanging back there. After some creative and careful finagling, we finally freed her and got her back in the vivarium. Whew. :weirdface Anyway, just thought I'd share the story with a happy ending!

Re: Delilah's attempted jail-break
Terrible, terrible feeling I'm sure! Glad you found her!
Re: Delilah's attempted jail-break
Seems like the same thing happened to one of mine, except she got out twice in 2 nights. found her in separate spots each time.
Re: Delilah's attempted jail-break
You talk about thinking like a snake.... I had one of mine escape last night. When I found him, just a few minutes after I woke up, he was sitting on the hamster cage. He just looked like, "I want this flavor!" He knew it was feeding day, and he wanted to make sure I knew it too. I cannot wait to get my new enclosures finished!
