    Shed Time
So my little guy is headed into shed, he's very dull and his eyes are well glazed over so I have been keeping the humidity up since it started. I was getting ready to mist last night when the humidity read "High" on my accurite thermometer so I left it alone. This morning the same message and now tonight it's still the same, tried a new battery and still no luck. So now I guess it's off to Wal-mart to get another one so I'm not left guessing. Grrr

Is it mounted above the substrate or just sitting on it?

It's sitting on it at the moment as the general consenus seems to be use nothing sticky in the cage.

suction cups work great. and could be because of its placement that the reading is off. remove it and see if it starts metering your room humidity correctly.

To get an accurate reading, it really needs to be mounted at least a few inches above the substrate..

In my tubs, I mount it as high as I can. In a tank 5 or 6 inches is great. I use a small piece of Velcro to hold mine up and there is really no danger doing this.

I guess I'll pull it out and see what happens. Either way its off to Wal-Mart, either for some suction cups or suction cups and a thermometer. Thanks for the responses!!
