Re: ummm, odd occurence...
Awww he wanted a buddy! or three! :D
Just keep an eye on him. I am sure he'll be fine. Maybe it's time to up his dinner size! :)
Glad you found him and the dog (and snake) are both safe!
Re: ummm, odd occurence...
holy cow! I've never heard of snakes breaking out of their cages only to break into the feeder cages :D Is the rat cage open top or something??
I have to say I'm impressed with your snake. And "maybe he was hungry?" is an understatement. He shouldn't be worse for wear for eating that much. Also, sometimes upping the size of prey for snakes can trigger an overall positive change in feeding aggression and overall hunger, don't really know why but it's something I've noticed in snakes I've taken care of.

That's what shocked me too! and the rat cage has a closed lid but does have a cutout for the top of the water bottle to poke through. The snake pusked the bottle inside and used the hole to get in :P
Upping the size isn't an option yet, being on mediums is only 2 weeks old and they are just a tad larger than the largest part of his body. I also don't want to power feed him. Maybe I should try cutting back down to smalls and feed him 2?

The funny part is the rest of the rats, 4, were all hiding on top of the food dish since he was inside the hide
Re: ummm, odd occurence...
Well, just make sure he has a nice warm spot, and a LOOOONG week to relax and digest! :)

I was just responding to what yous aid about your snake not taking 2 feeders before you upped the size(whenever that was), and upping the size may have upped his appetite.
Re: ummm, odd occurence...
What no pics?!
Lol this is pretty funny though.
Re: ummm, odd occurence...
Make sure he gets back on heat and he'll probably be alright.
And this story is hilarious.
Re: ummm, odd occurence...
My Ball tried this this morning. He just didn't succeed in getting to the hamsters.:D
