    shed?
Is it common for ball pythons to be opaque for close to a week? My girl has cleared up a little bit these past few days, but is still rather opaque. I have notice her skin is flaking off (just like half a scale) a little in some places.

My humidity is 70% so I am not really sure what is going on. Her past sheds have all been perfect. For her past sheds, she has only been opaque for 3-5 days max.

Should I give it a few days? or should I assist her with shedding?

if she is still opaque, she is still building fluid between the layers to help loosen it up. as you know she should go clear before she actually sheds.

Id give her a few more days see if she can clear it up her self. it might just be a really good shed lol requires more prepping.

Is she yawning at all? looking like she is trying ot get it ready to go to peel?

Just make sure her humidity is right (60% or so) and watch for her to return to a "normal" looking appearance. Usually within 72 hours after that they've shed. If she goes too long though check out our Bad Shed sticky for advice on how to help her get the old skin off.

    nope no yawning.

I just thought it was strange that little bits of the skin were already starting to come off but she hasn't cleared up completely yet.

that is odd, usually they will clear up just before they shed. but im sure its not unheard of.

my opinion is give it a few more days and after that assistance may be required.

Someone should invent a miniature car wash type device for bp's lol....when they have a bad shed you can put them on the belt and watch them go thru......I am going to go gather up my sons old toys and see what I can come up with!

I think out BP's are shedding buddies as they appear to be on the exact same shed time line as mine cleared up as well hehe
