    Shuttle launch
Well being born and raised in Florida, I thought it was a sin to have not seen a shuttle from the launch site, been planning this trip since my move back from North Carolina.

We got there 3 hours before the launch and it was already crowded! $20 parking not too bad. $3 for a small soft serve ice cream cone ridiculous! hearing the sonic boom after the launch priceless.

Here are some pics & video from my high tech kodak easy share :) enjoy

    I love shuttle launches :D

Colonel Pam Melroy(shuttle pilot, mission commander, veteran combat pilot, test pilot) is a family friend and invited us out back in Oct. 2007 to see her launch for STS-120. What an experience!

In another life I was an astronaut.

We live in North Florida. We were driving down US1, the kids point up at the orange blaze in the sky and said, like any other normal day, "Hey Mom, the shuttle made it. Can I stay at Renz's house for a while?".

And I got to thinking, man, it's crazy how my kids just take a shuttle launch for granted. When I was growing up, space programs was such an amazing thing that my dad named all his kids after one (Except me. My mom named me)! So, my 2 brothers are Gemini and Apollo and my sister is Mercury. Imagine being a girl growing up named Mercury.
