    My Blood Won't Eat
Any ideas I can try to get him to eat? I've had him for 9 days. He won't eat live or frozen.

If you've had him for 9 days, I hope you mean you just offered food ONCE and just 2 days ago. If so, leave him alone and feed him again a week from the day you tried.

Make sure your husbandry is 100%. Make sure he feels secure, and make sure you prescent.

    X2

Offering a rodent more than every 5-7 days can contribute to his stress. Give him a bit of time to acclimate, offer him another rodent in 5-7 days.

Check his husbandry and make sure it's spot on. If you are do everything right with his husbandry, he'll eat when he gets settled in.

    So many questions....

First off, whats his temps? And Connie was spot on, only 9 days, he should have been offered food once.

Was this the replacement snake from LLL or am I thinking of someone else?

When you posted enclosure pictures on the other forum you made it seem like the heat tape was set at 86 but the enclosure was cooler....You need the temps around 82 with no hot spot.

Contact LLL and see what they were feeding.

You may need to step down to a smaller tub size, the one he is in is too big and could be the reason he's not eating.

Baby bloods will do best at 80 to 82 degrees all around. You can provide a hot spot of 86 IF YOU'D LIKE, but it's not necessary and can sometimes freak younger bloods out. A lot of people don't even provide one for adults.

Keep the floor temps and ambient air temps between 80 and 82 at the current time. Make sure he has a hide and fresh water, and leave him alone for a week.

    Then try again

    Everybody's pretty much covered it.

The little guy will be alright if he misses a week of feeding. Give him some time. I don't provide a basking spot for any of my bloods, just a consistent 80-82.
