Forum lingo.
First off...if this should be in off-topic, feel free to move it.
I have been active on several forums over the past several years, and I still don't really know where some of the lingo came from.
I know where the word forum came from, and how that sort of became discussion board for a lot of places that didn't know the ancient roots...but where did the idea to call a certain topic a thread.
Anyone?

Ahhhhh....makes sense. Thanks Jo.
Now for another thread I can't find. It had a run down of the different phrases and such to go along with rep points and the green boxes. I have tried a ton of different searches and I just can't find it. I think it was Nate who posted it. Anyone have a link?

From the "Sticky Forum". This one is where to tuck old stickies that are still valuable to the community. :)

Actually, the Romans used the word forum- not sure if they were the original ones or not, though. The Roman Senate met at the forum to discuss politics etc.
