    Coconut fiber questoin
I usually used reg paper as substrate, but I got bored and decided to go for more of a natural look and used shredded coconut fiber..I think made by eco earth..I fed crickets..and on every strike she would get a mouthful of the stuff...is this bad for her to ingest???

I'm kinda worried...cause I don't want to cause impaction..but I was under the impression that happened with a different kind of substrate

Any info would be great...I'm ready to get this stuff out of her cage and stick with newspaper or indented paper

That is why they suggest not to use the stuff.....because of impaction.. the only safe way to use it is if you either feed crickets etc in a seperate tank or not to feed live prey.

I go with a more natural look the easy way....

I use kitchen shelf liner that is cocoa bark brown..... You can cut it to fit the size of your tank, I cut two pieces that way when I clean I can stick the clean one in, and immediately put the other peice in the sink and wash it with a drop of dawn dishwashing liquid and let dry until next time....

Here is what it looks like

here was my first tank that I had skylar in..... we later upgraded to bigger tank

Don't want your little ones injesting the cocoa bark, so unless you can feed them live prey separately or train them to eat it out of a cup that is too tall for the crickets to get out of I would stick with papertowels or go with the very nice looking kitchen liner that Stacey is recommending. :)
