Fire Belly Toads & Salamanders?
What do you think, can they co-exist?
Re: Fire Belly Toads & Salamanders?
First reaction is no. Very few animals have the exact same husbandry requirements and won't eat each other. Having said that, I'm not sure of what is required for these two particular animals so I can't say for sure.
Re: Fire Belly Toads & Salamanders?
I did it when I was younger and the newts died. That being said, I think they would have died anyway. They were pretty small and I dont think they were the healthiest animals around. What I noticed is that the small smooth ones seemed to kick the bucket really easy and later on I got a larger one that had bumpier skin and he lived for years.
I say go for it.
Re: Fire Belly Toads & Salamanders?
I would say no. Correct me if I am wrong but I think the firebelly toads give off a toxin and salamanders absorb everything through their skin. It could be potentially fatal to them so I would advise against it. Most salamanders are terrestrial.
