    incubator question
I am pretty sure I know the answer but want other opinions.
If I keep the helix on my incubator set on 90 and the fan is running 24/7 and I keep the incubator in a building that gets up to 120 degrees, will the bator stay at 90 or will it also heat to 120? Will the fan and the seal help maintain the inside temps? How about if I have a big fan blowing on the outside of the bator?

It will get to hot. You need to cool the space down or you will cook em'.

Nice to know you're up and about.

Nothing in the bator yet...just didnt want to move it and it is in my metal building, gets hot in there. Good to be up and about again, thanks.

Got my answer confirmed early...have the helix set at 90 with the fan blowing continuously. It got up to 86 here today, 101 in the building, and 98 in the incubator.

If the room temperature is hotter than the desired incubator temperature it will get too hot. If you have to keep your incubator in a room that is consistantly above 90 degrees, you can use a peltier elecrothermal chip on a heat sink and use a Herpstat to cool the eggs down to 90 degrees, instead of using a heat source to heat the eggs to 90. Depending on the ambient temperature and the size of the incubator, it might requre a lot of thermal units to do the job, so finding a cooler area might be the easiest option.

Definately going to move the bator. I knew it would get too hot but not that hot. Thought the seal and the fan would keep it a little cooler than that.
