    Kingsnake with rattles?
Okay, let me start by saying that i know absolutely nothing about kingsnakes. I love balls! <- i am gonna get it for that.

anyway, we bought my gf's sister a baby kingsnake at the Tampa show yesterday and i was reading some threads about them on Kingsnake and here. I found a couple of threads where people were talking about baby kingsnakes making a rattling sound but aparently it goes away when they get bigger. What? we looked this little girl up and down and didn't find a rattler. so, i am just wondering which ones have a rattler?

we got an Albino Cali King

Its not that they have rattles, its that they shake their tail like a rattler.

And when they do that in dry grass or leaves or up against the side of your tank, it sounds amazingly like a rattlesnake.

It's kind of funny if you get one who's really into it.

so when the threads said that they "heard" them rattle they meant they looked like they rattled. i'll see if i can locate the thread. but they said "heard."

i am not worried about anything i am just curious.

My Albino Cali still vibrates her tail, especially when feeding or when spooked. You are bound to hear it at some stage but it's merely a defence mechanism. All my Colubrids do this and yes it does sound remarkably like a rattler!

I just fed my kingsnake in a deli cup and she was rattling, very cool. They definately try inpersonating venomous snakes.
