Quest to Change the Normal BP name!!!!!!

As I look at all the wonderful pictures of members ball pythons I see a lot of people show pictures of their normals and say these are just normals but I like the way they look....as if embarrassed that they are not a 8k morph...

I think we should petition.....or set the way for a new name for the Normal Ball Python that started it all...................(no clue if normal is trademarked lol)

I vote for the Classic Ball Python.........

Out of the 10 I have and all the pictures i see......I still think the normals..../Classics hold some of the most interesting patterns and color contrast as any big name morph....

Don't get me wrong I love the morphs but I think its time we give the normal/Classic the repect it deserves!!!! :):)

I agree 100%...Its about time somebody gave a little attention to the "classic" Ball Pythons. The name "Classic" seems to fit very well too....:D

The Coca Cola Bottling Co decided to rename their ordinary coke as "Classic Coke" before the time that most of you were born. They made a formula that was closer to Pepsi and named that one "New Coke". Nobody bought the "New Coke" and after a couple of years they dropped the formula and name "New Coke". They continued to call their normal coke "Classic Coke" until this year they announced that they were dropping that name after realizing the lack of practicality of the name "classic." I vote to stay with "normal."

Merriam Webster defines normal as - a: according with, constituting, or not deviating from a norm, rule, or principle b: conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern.

IMHO, i think normal is fine. Morphs are special but that doesn't make the normal any less special. It just means that they are part of a large majority. I am normal, please don't attempt to label me as Classic. Some of us have to fight for normalcy and do not want that title taken away.

Besides anyone outside this forum is going to look at you like your crazy when you say classic BP. It's not like we're passing a law to rename a snake it's just a nickname your tring to pass onto others on a forum.

plus it would probally add confusion to the classic jungle nerd produces

I don't think it really matters what you call them.

It shouldn't matter what people on forums think of your snakes - it should matter what YOU think of your snakes.

It a great idea since the normal or classic or original ball python seems to be looked down on anymore. But, to try and change it now would be a losing battle. You may get a few followers but I'm sure a Large percentage will always refer to them as Normals.

Best of luck in the venture nonetheless as Id have no problem calling them a Classic or Original.
