Can I use 2 boxes with a hole in them for a hide?
They're just taped-together cardboard with a nice, python sized hold that I cut. Will they be okay for 2 snakes to share? Should I add more holes?

(I can't separate them until spring break when I have time to set up all the tubs and stuff, so they're together for a few more weeks)

Well you obviously know it's best if they didn't live together and the reasons why, so I won't go over that again. I would suggest though that you find another hide option. You don't want any kind of tape inside a snake's enclosure ever. Also cardboard will get nasty fast in the humid environment of a bp enclosure. These snakes often use their hides as a place to toilet so that will make that cardboard pretty gross pretty fast. Hit the dollar store for some dark colored plastic bowls. Melt or cut an entrance into them (make sure the cut/melted area is smooth though).

Since you said that you for some reason cannot separate them I would put multiple hides. The problem is going to be with them stressing each other out by fighting for the best spots and one is going to win (that is going to be the one on the bottom).

Sure, but they will be disposable. You could buy plastic bowls anywhere for $1 or less and cut holes in them and they would be washable.Or use flower pots.

Let me rephrase the question: Will they be an OK substitute for about 5 days?
