Snakes shed randomly, depending on their rate of growth. It could be anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months.

psycho, when you first get them, it can be hard to determine the last time they shed. It makes predicting the next one (first one in your care) a little tough.
When they are as young as yours, they normally shed about every 6-8 weeks...sometimes more, sometimes less.
Depending on when it shed last, you could be looking a another 3-4 weeks before it goes into shed. Or it could happen tomorrow. Watch for changes in feeding patterns. It can signal an on coming shed.
Re: How Long Does It Take....
Generally younger snakes that are growing quickly shed more frequently. If the snake is young, well fed and healthy it is likely to shed about every 4 to 6 weeks but that's a very general estimate.

Is this snake eating with consistency?
How much and how often. The stronger feeders will shed more often.

Make sure you read the shedding pages posted on this site. My baby shed two weeks after I bought him. It was really easy to see the hints of shedding after I read the forum. Pink belly, blueish eyes, and dull coloring. And be sure to keep the humidity up. Mine had a terrible time because the pet store was at horrible humidity. It takes time for the snakes to acclimate. Now she is shiny and beautiful.
