1. How long should i wait to handle him for inspection?
2. And how long before he can feed?
1. When all the shed is off
2. Doesn't really matter, just when he is done shedding. I have heard of some eating with their shed pulled halfway down.
Re: Just witnessed 1st shed
I saw my BP shed for the first time today as well.
Re: Just witnessed 1st shed
Make sure to check for eye caps :) did you keep the shed? I kept mine. Is that strange? I put it in a photo album. lol. We'll see how it looks in a few months. Maybe I'll be able to keep it and maybe i won't.

1.) I agree, after all the shed is off, it should be fine. However, our BP honestly doesn't mind us when we hold it even during its shed (the first time we got it, it happened to have a bad shed, but it was quite nice on us handling it)
2.) Our BP ate right after it shed, and while it still had a couple of dull patches on it. It honestly depends on your BP's temperament. You can experiment with it by attempting to feed it right after it shed, a day after, etc.
Re: Just witnessed 1st shed
i like to hold mine right after the shed the new skin feels weird but neat at the the same time... As far as feeding goes some of mine wont eat for a couple of days but my breeder male was shedding at feeding time and he basically jumped out of his shed at the tail end to get the rat it was soooo funny
