    First Escapee
Well today is feeding day for everyone, like usual. I had thawed out a rat for Q, and went to Petco and got feeders for Oakley and Hissy. One of my buddies was over (python guy) and wanted to see Oakley and Hissy feed live. Well about a month ago I figured out that the screen top from a 10 gallon tank fits snugly over top of the tubs we have them in (makes viewing substantially easier). We opened Hissy's cage and put the mouse in there, it ran into both of her hides...that's when we knew something was wrong. We had a snake go AWOL. After reading on here I knew where to look so I opened the closet and started pulling stuff out while Ashtin started looking behind stuff near their tubs. About 2 minutes later she pulled the bookshelf next to their tubs away from the wall and there she was, a bit cold because of being on the floor but no other harm done. I almost didn't want to feed her because of her being cold but I figured what the heck, why not? She ate the mouse like I have never seen before. No hesitation at all. It was just sitting in her hot side hide and she actually went in after it, struck and coiled a bit. A few minutes later she was scarfing it down right as Oakley decided to massacre his mouse. Well that was enough excitement for the night so we sat down and ate supper. lol. They definitely keep us on our toes!

Sounds like you need some additional security on that lid. Glad you got her back so quickly.

I just apparently didn't latch it right because they are the rubbermaid snap tops and are typically fine, just didn't check it like I should have.

idk how she does it but she did it again. I love having their room enclosed and it's a small room without alot of stuff in it so it makes it easy to find them. We have a stack of books on it now.
