just arrived and hearing noises....

where do i start i get my 2 female balls today and i look them over put them in the quarintine tubs and as i go to close the tub i hear a whistle like noise so i open the one girls tub back out and i just put my ear by her and every so often i hear a noise at first i thought it might be an warning hiss but it sounded more like a whistling noise are there more symptoms to consider RI i see no bubbles and i did notice her having her mouth cracked open(meaning not closed all the way)I'm gonna be very upset if this is the ND snake i get from the same suppose big time breeder/wholesaler whatever he wants to be called that i have to take to the vet.....so my ? is have you ever heard of a ball python making noise that was not a hiss and was not RI...:(

if they were sent via fedex form breeder. call and tell the breeder the snake has RI symptoms and they should gurantee health or send money back

Sometimes they will make a whistle-like noise when they are about to shed and some loosening skin is near their nostrils.

Thank goodness you QT though. Definitely contact the breeder ASAP and let them know of your concerns with this snake just in case.

Also remember the shipping compartment on the plane they took was not heated. But yes get a hold of the breeder ask questions, and QT. I had one female making noise for the first day she was here, and then stopped as soon as she got warmed up.

hey thanks guys here's the deal this is the 2nd ball python i got because the first one had problems i mean by the time the guy finish sending me bad snakes he won't have any lol...no really i bought 5 balls the first time and one male had a lump on his face so to make a long story short he sends me 2 normal girls at 600 grams each then this...so out of 7 balls 2 of them had something wrong i mean I'm done trying to work with this guy...i will now only buy from well known breeders not well known wholesalers..i found this guy on KS and i thought he was a breeder he told me he has 300+ animals...btw jamielynn you have the same name as my lady her name is Jamie Lynn topple that's so funning....ps ill take this girl to see the vet tomorrow plus i will be at the Wheaton show sat...thanks

Just a simple word of advise...find a better source for your Ball Pythons.

It was very popular name in the 80s. I know at least 4 other Jamie Lynns, and I went to school with 10 other jamies in my graduating class.:D
