    Random Genetics Questions!!
I got some questions that need answering. I really need to get that kevin mccurley book, so I can stop bothering all of you :P

But what I was wondering was what happens when you breed the following:

    codom x dominant

    codom x reccesvie

    codom x codom

    recessive x recessive

    recessive x dominant

the reason im asking is, I wanna know what trait does what when you breed so I can answer my own questions lol. But are all morphs the same? Like fire's are codoms, but when bred together they produce Black Eyed Lucy's? Does every codom have some kind of special form?

This all depends on if you breed the Homozygous form of the Co-dom or the Heterozygous

    But

recessive x recessive = all visual recessive (assuming your meaning the Homozygous form of the recessive gene)

recessive x dominant = Het's 50% of which are normal looking and 50% of which look like the dominant gene (assuming your meaning the Homozygous form of the recessive gene and the statics on the dominate gene play out right)

Yes, every codom has a "super" form. That is part of the definition of what makes it a codom.

As for the rest, it will really help you to read the links that the others posted, or just do some googling yourself. Mendelian genetics are all the same, whether they are for snakes or anything else, so there is TONS of info out there. Find a page that makes sense to you. Learn how to do Punnett squares and it will all come easy after that.

One tip: don't worry so much about what is recessive, codom, or dominant. The Punnett squares are all set up the same way regardless. After you have done the Punnett square, and know you'll have 25% of this and 12.5 percent of that, and so on, then figure out whether it will be visual and what it will look like.

The more you read, and the more morphs you look at the more sense it makes.

Even with genetic wizards online and what not... I would still get handy with a pencil and punnett square. Do a few of those and it does start making more sense if you are a hands on learner.

Start with a four square... then a 16... then... MORE! :P
