Re: Vermiculite shelf life
Well imagine that, vermiculite has it's own "association" LOL.

I think as long as the bag was either unopened or resealed fully and kept dry it should be fine. However, in the interest of knowing such things as truth, I'll dash off an email to their contact person and ask them your question.
Re: Vermiculite shelf life
Vermiculite is an expanded mineral with no nutrient value, so it really can't go bad. As long as it's kept dry it should last forever. If you have any worries you can always bake in a cake pan for an hour to dry it out and kill anything that might have landed on it.
Re: Vermiculite shelf life
It's just rock, to dumb it down a bit.
It should be fine.
Re: Vermiculite shelf life
As long as it's not wet or molded. I did leave a bag in a barn that had a leak and it ruined it.....or should I say I ended up not using it because of how bad it looked. May have worked fine but it looked like it may have been moldy or etc.
Re: Vermiculite shelf life
Vermiculite doesn't mold...Some breeders use the same vermiculite over and over for years.
Re: Vermiculite shelf life
The vermiculite itself should be fine. If anything else is in it then you may need to worry about that.
