    humidity for a bearded dragon??
    hey. i need a quick reply for a friend. he bought some bearded dragons from a guy and he gave him a caresheet but it doesn't say anything about humidity levels. he has an accu-rite thermostat and he said its says 'low' for the humidity. thanks for any help!

    They're a desert species, they don't need high humidity. I don't keep them myself, but this is what I've heard and it's sort of desert = low humidity.

    Exactly what Dutch said; Beardies need low humidity. I don't use water bowls in my enclosures to help keep humidity down.

    There really should not be any humidity. The only humidity my dragon enclosures get is when I give them a little spay of water in between their baths. My dragons are on tile when I had them on sand I did not spray them down.

    Most Bearded Dragons don't readily drink from a water dish. I give regular baths and they get most of the moisture they need from the greens they eat.

    My dragon drinks water from a bowl! I have a screened top enclosure so I leave a water dish in for him and its changed often. High humidity can cause URI in beardies.

    Dont want to sound stupid. . . but what is URI?
    My water bowl is big, but the humidity is low due to the basking light and the big cage.

    URI = Upper resperatory infection. Very bad.
