My New Corn Snakes

These are my new corn snakes they were born in 2007 and are male and female, The male is a butter motley het for snow, anery and stripe and the female is a normal stripe het motley, snow, butter and anery. I plan on breeding them when they get breeding size but that may be 1-2 years hopefully or sooner if they grow fast!!

How can they be het for so many different traits though? They must have some crazy lineage...

Oooooo... nice butter boy there! :) Both are pretty babies.

A lot of corn morphs are connected, so it is quite possible to have many hets in the bloodline.

And like I said earlier, beautiful snakes! I haven't seen a striped corn w/o any breaks in the stripe in a while!

I think that everytime I buy one... I see clutches on forums where two snakes breed and there is this nutty mish mash of offspring, at which point there is just lots of speculation as what to sell them as... :rolleyes:

Actually some of the hets mentioned are redundant: i.e. the butter motley being het for snow and anery, is really just het for anery. Butter = amel + caramel and snow = amel + anery, so since the snake is homozygous amel, its really just het for anery. But never the less, they can have lots of multi hets.

Great pair, breeding them will be exciting to see what pops out.
