When Mom Overextends herself
What happens when mom tries to produce more eggs than she can physiologically provide for???
You get this..... I think of it as 'half-fertilized'. About half of them are developing nice dark red veins, but I think mom got a little ahead of herself shooting for a larger clutch than she had the resources for.....

Ah well, hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Good luck with the clutch. I hope they pan out for you. What is mom and dad? How big of clutch did she lay? I like your photos :)
Re: When Mom Overextends herself
maybe it should produce twin, but one died already,LOL.btw, good luck!
Re: When Mom Overextends herself
How many did she give you? I've had a female lay 13 before but only 11 made it. Good luck and hope they all go.

I had 2 rollouts last year that looked alot like that. I incubated them anyways. Their vascular structure (Viens) grew and both hatched out. The crazy thing was they were the only pastels from the clutch, good thing I took the chance and incubated them anyways.

One of them was the rollout, but there are 4 (out of 8) that look like this, so we'll wait and see..... Will be interesting to watch them develop.

I had that last year, with no losses on the egg that had it.
