    Pastel Axanthics vs. Axanthics (subadults)
Shot some new pics today for fun. These do a pretty good job of comparing subadult animals. The axanthic is an 07 and the Lemon Pastel Axanthics are 08s, all around 800g (and are obviously pigs :) )

    Thanks for looking!

The first time I saw an axanthic I totally fell in LOVE. Hard.

The first time I saw an adult axanthic it broke my heart.

Why can't they stay black and gray? :(

I do like that lemon pastel axanthic better though, and they both are pretty.. They're just not black and gray.

They are really variable. Some are more black and silver than others....some are gray and black....and the lowest quality IMO is the brown and black.

The subadult I showed is the gray and black variety.

If you are picky about the animals you can definitely get one that holds it's color well.

This is the mom of the lighter Pastel Axanthic....

    Hope that helps :)

    Hey nice snakes.

Keep it up and in a few years you'll have some real nice 50-50 calkings, er balls.

Seriously though, they are neat looking.

John, thanks for posting those photos. I'm very interested in adding an Axanthic Pastel to our collection next year, but hadn't seen a side by side comparison like that before. The Pastel takes all the best traits from the Axanthic, and jacks it up a little.

I want an axanthic so bad! I think they look so nice. Do different lines hold color better? Or is it the individual snake?
