    ball python acting strange
Ok my ball python is being odd. I feed it frozen mice, and i put them in a box and i place the box in the tank. I have never had a problem with this before. I put the mice in his tank and he wont eat them he is guarding them. if i walk by the tank he strikes the side of it but he has been just sitting in the same spot stairing at the mice. Is this normal? should i remove the food?

Have you ever tried offering the F/T mouse with tongs? like, dangling it in front of the snake?

he could be stressed out. i have also heard that if you heat the mouse up in water it washes all the good smell off so they have a hard time smelling it. i always just put mine in a ziplock bag and put it in the water so the mouse never makes contact with the water, and then when its thawed out i give it a quick blast with a hairdryer and dangle it in front of them with tongs and they take it in no time.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try that I had him for over a year and he never had a problem with taking the food. maybe hes just waiting for it to move or something.

Yeah the mice are warmed up. He ate the mouse I had to get tongs and dangle the mouse in front of him.

A good zombie mouse dance always does the trick for me.
