Cleaning Tubs

Hey I was wondering how often everyone cleans their tubs/enclosures. I use aspen bedding, and spot clean every day. Waste is never left in the enclosure for more then a day ever. As soon as I come home everyday I remove any kind of nastiness, so I keep them pretty clean. When she pees I usually remove the saturate aspen as well. But when should I change the aspen? Its prolly been in there since october. No smells or anything like that either. Whats usually a good rule of thumb for cleaning, and replacing aspen??

I'm not exactly sure on the bedding you're using cause I use papertowels, but I'd have to say at least a complete change of the bedding at least once a month.

I would replace the bedding and scrub the tub once a month. You never know what could be growing in there

really? I remeber someone telling me you can keep the aspen in there up to 6 months! Actually it says that on the bag!! I mean if you think about it, how dirty can it really be? If you spot clean as nessacarey, and don't let things linger too long I can see it lasting that long. I mean like I said I have had it in there since oct, and there are NO smells. Actually its going on 6 months on march. As soon as march comes I'll change it. Anyone else use aspen? I know paper towels are good too, but mine seem to like to dig themselves into the aspen im gonna stick with this.

I use aspen and I spot clean when necessary. Usually when they shed I have to clean the whole thing because they just let loose everywhere.

It is good practice to keep on a cleaning schedule to maintain a healthy environment. You could always miss something when spot cleaning and even with spot cleaning, you can never get all of it.

I've heard lots of things regarding certain substrates like that and everyone has their own ways of doing things.

I use papertowels because:

1) It's safe for the animal
2) It doesn't become a home to parasites/bacteria
3) It's easier to clean
