Home made rack

im going to construct a home made rack as i plan on getting a female soon and maybe a morph.

is this something good to start off with or is it too small to start should i go bigger?

dimensions are Approximately 10-1/2" x 13-3/4" x 11" per drawer

I seen people try to use those and they are always hunting snakes. Those drawer systems are not secure at all.

Check out Reptilebasics.com their racks are affordable and well made

well i was going ot find some form of securing the drawers ill check out Reptilebasics.com as well though. i don't like to order over the boarder cuz canadian customs screws me every time.

if i were to try out this project. what dimension would you say is good for juvenile/hatching? either of the above?

I would suggest building it around a tub you like as well. The first one I built was around the 32qt I already had and it worked out very well.

thats another way im looking to go. i do have a tub i already like.

not sure yet. just been looking around at a few DIY articles.

there is a metal fab place in town and i know the owner well, i could get him to make me something up out of some lighter metal. something that fits the dimensions of the tubs and he would even powder coat it flat black for me. im still unsure if im going to build one from scratch or go with a shelving/tub system that's premade and modify it from there.

I'll try to post a few pictures of the last one I made in a few days. I used some free wood I picked up from a place that makes office furniture. I think it was 1 1/8" mel and I know it's over 100lbs lol. I wanted it to be really sturdy and it is. All I had to buy was screws, thermostat, and heat pads.



Oh....Can't forget the new tubs I bought to fill it

lol this is going to be upstairs and since ill be building it in my workshop in my garage. i need it to be less hefty lol

Ill probably go with flexwatt wired in parallel as well rather then heat pad.
