BP Hasn't Pooped in 6 Weeks
Title says it all. He's about a year old and weighs about 650g. He eats small rats every Thursday, never misses a meal. We've had him since July and usually poops about every three weeks, but lately he hasn't gone. His tail looks like he's got a turd in there, but not too big. Should we wait it out or maybe try to soak him? Normally, I don't freak about things like this as I figure he'll go when he needs, but he's never gone this long before that I know of.

I would urge you to wait it out. Generally, they go when they need to go. Chances of him being impacted are slight, and I'm sure he'll get it out of his system, so to speak.

What is the substrate? Does he have a layer of stuck shed?

Chances are 99% that he is fine and just saving you up a big present. :)

he is on Cypress mulch, but he eats in a separate tub. I know, people won't agree with that, but it's working and so far I've gotten a much stronger feeding response from him by sticking him in his tub. He knows it's feeding time when he goes in there. There is no stuck shed on him anywhere. last time he shed was mid to late January. Last time he pooped was a week before then, didn't write down the date.

Give him a warm soak. Can't hurt anything and it might get him to evacuate for you.

After the story of the girl drowning her snake during a soak, I will never recommend it.

Is your snake due for a shed? Usually they let loose right after they shed.

I wouldn't worry about it yet. 6 weeks isn't unheard of and your snake will let loose when he needs to... My first snake didn't defecate for 6 weeks one time so like I said-- no need to worry.

Well, he shed on Saturday and nothin'. He soaked everything during the shed, but no crap. My wife opened the cage this morning and she was like, "what's that smell"? LOL, she lifted the hide, and there it was.... the monster turd. Sorry, no pics! Well, no I feel better, and I'm sure he does as well. Thanks to the people who replied to my initial post.
