breeding

i conditions for breeding season with temps, light and food. everytime i try to introduce my female to male, he just gets aggressive by shaking his tail and biting her in the side. what else can i do to induce breeding?

Males vibrate their tail tip to illicit a response from the female.... they nip at the sides of the female to see if she is "in the mood".... if she is, she will let him nip and hold on to her, he may nip and twitch a bit, and then proceed to mount her....

If she is not in the mood, she will bite him back and/or run off and/or wave her tail in an annoyed fashion.

Read up on breeding leopard geckos a bit more as well, look for pictures of what "should" happen...

It sometimes takes introducing them to "see" a few times before actual breeding takes place...

Today my female normal finally bred, but that was probably the 4th time i've let her go in with the male over the last 10 days. I usually try, wait 2 days, and try again.

thanks. i've seen them bite behind the neck before but never on the side. wierd. i'll keep tryin.
