What do you look for in a BP rack?
I'd like to know everyones opinions on rack systems. Please, if there is something NOT in the poll that you would like to see offered in a rack system, feel free to add it.

I look for racks that are sturdy, made out of material that will last (plastic / metal), tubs slide out easy, tubs have proper clearance, and tubs are easy to find if I need to replace them.

I have RBI plastic racks and a Freedom Breeder style rack. I like the plastic racks, because they hold humidity very well. Personally, I like the metal racks better. I plan to purchase Freedom Breeder or ARS racks in the future.

Apparently I was too slow to add a poll...LOL

I'd still like to hear your opinions on what YOU want in your racks

    Thanks :)

ARS and Freedom breeder are the best. If you have a smaller collection, the Vision rack is good.
People here seem to like the DIY brand too.;)

I was asking what you LOOK for when choosing a rack. The reason you choose what you choose. :)

I agree, they are the best. I saw the other day that Freedom Breeder came out with a new rack that is much cheaper than their original version. The ten high cb-70 rack is not priced at $900, which is cheaper than ARS, and comparable to Vision.

where? its still over 1k on their site.
i look for ones that dont sag that are properly made to fit the tub not something with inches of gaps around the tubs like a few unnamed make.
rbi and animal plastics makes great racks
for open air racks id say ars is probally the most visabilly pleasing

I saw it on kingsnake classifieds the other day. They also said that they will have a new web site up within a few weeks with their new racks. Their 30 tub cb-70 rack new rack is priced somewhere around 2300 or 2400. I do not remember the exact price.

Besides the obvious points mentioned here, customer supports goes a long way with me. You need to be able to feel like you have some peace of mind with your investment when it comes time to call on the vendor. Hope it helps.

Excellent point. I have heard several "issues" with CS from certain rack builders.
