    questions on night lighing
    right now i use infrared heat lamps but i wanna add more red light in the cages. does any one have any idea. stuff like red led red fluorescent bulb, etc

    Cold Cathode comes to mind but you must have at least basic knowledge of electricity and I have never seen it in cages! Just thought i'd throw it out there.

    I'm defiantly not recommending it only because I have no experience with these as lighting for reptiles. If someone does decide to try these out I think it would look great. You can actually dim these from what I hear also. The example site I used is really lighting for CPU's.

    yes they are dimmable. now the issue is how much white light do they give off. and would it mess up the day/night cycle.

    also can snakes not red light in general or does it have to be a specific light?

    I would think they wouldn't give off any white light. I'm also not sure if it would mess up the day/night cycle but if they were on a timer I wouldn't thank so.

    you could find some red LED rope light and route it into your existing cages. I have seen that done before.

    that priceeeeee i know the led rope is 12vdc and you have to have a converter to make it from ac to dc

    what on earth are you talking about? Rope lights are like 10$ for 4 feet. Why would you need to convert from AC to DC?
