I never knew that about the metabolic activity. I love hearing the word colubrid too, I thought it was pronounced call-uh-brid for a while.

Admit that I have only watched this episode once and so mabe missed it, but did you mention about feeding them up for several weeks before putting the pairs together to start breeding ? Seemed to me that it came over as, warm them up and put them together. My guys usually stop eating again once they are in together - too busy for food - and so I like to really get lots of food into them first.
