    To make a bumblebee...
I believe that I understand that a spider x pastel is what makes a bumblebee. Does it matter which is the male and which is the female? Also, What would be the probability percentages of the clutch (what % pastel, what % spider, what % bumblebee)? I know that this is pretty basic. Just trying to learn.:)

Doesn't matter which sex is which as long as you have a pair:

    25% Normals
    25% Pastels
    25% Spiders
    25% Bumbles

It doesn't matter but, I would say the best way to go is a Spider X Pastel, thats what I did!
% will be out of 4 eggs you would get a Pastel, a Spider, A normal and a Bee.
Some times it don't go that way!:tears:
I had 6 eggs and out of that I hatched out 3 bees, 1-Pastel, 1- Spider and 1- Normal, the down side was they were all females!lol
But I was happy to see some bees, I was praying for one and got 3, thats how it goes some times!;)

    Good luck!:gj:

Oh, I am a couple of years away from it, but was curious if one needed to be male or female specifically. Hopefully will be adding one of the two to the collection this spring and the other this summer! Woooohooooo! Can't wait!

Downside of all females!! LOL!! 50% Bees!! I hope that when the time comes, I am as fortunate as you!! :)

Get yourself a bee and next you'll want to make some killers!

percent is based on per egg not per clutch. and with any genetics you might not hit the average or what a punnet square tells you you should get. good times when you beat the odds, and bad luck when the odds beat you!
