fed my baby ball python every 4 days. Please help!!!!!!!!

hi i just got a baby ball python on 2-12-09 and fed him i thought i should only feed him a pinky but the lady said she had been feeding him smaller adult mice so i did everything went fine and then today i feed him another small adult mouse I was just curious if every 4 days is to much. He is 17.5 in. and about as thick as an average size droom stick

Every 5 days is recommended. Keep with the small mice though. She is right.

Yeah I would bump it up to 5 days. I fed my first female every 5 days for the first few months then bumped it up to 6 days and now shes every week or soo I try to vary it a little bit. Sometimes going for 1 1/2 weeks for the larger ones. It all depends on the snake I had a few that were getting a little fat so I cut them back for a while but Im back to once a week for breeding purposes trying to plump a few of them up so they can be happy mommas. lol.

why is it you feed them less often as they get older. is it because when there young you want to feed more for growing purposes? then when there older its just for obvious reasons (health, hunger). here is picture

oh and one more question. What type of snake is he , would he be some sort of pastel and if so what???? sorry for the ignorance, still just new at this trying to learn everything. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Looks sort of pastelish in that boxing glove but no idea if he(she?) is a pastel or not from that pic. I'd guess its just a normal but you'd have to ask the person you bought it from. Also, be happy yours is eating regularly while it lasts. My female is a total pain in the ass about feeding.

Looks like a beautiful normal! It is a shame they are called normals, I think they are so pretty :D

And by normal he means a normal. Pastels are easily recognized by their green eyes. Normals have brown eyes.
