Distilled water???!!! HELP!
The water here in Florida is about as hard as water can get. misting my cresties tank is constantly leaving ugly calcium stains on the glass. My quesion is, can't I just use distillled water? Obviously they do most of their drinking by licking the water droplets created by misting. My understanding is that distilled water is created by steam... so its just pure water without the calcium and other crap. will they be ok drinking it?
thanks for your help!
Mike

Pure water can't hurt them....however you may be removing some beneficial minerals from their diet.
If your water is not to hard, you might consider a RO unit.
Re: Distilled water???!!! HELP!
Thanks dave. I realize it will not have the minerals in it... but keep in mind, I would still use the tap water to mix into their gecko powder... and I do still provide a small water bowl that would still be filled with tap water.
So, they will still have access to the tap water both in the food and water bowl.... Under these conditions, does anyone see a problem with misting every day / night with only distilled water?

I don't see a problem with it. I had a fogger that would leave a white powder all over the place. So I know what you mean.

That really wouldn't do much. Brita filters don't filter down to a low enough micron size to make any real difference.

I use to buy those huge water jugs like you put in office dispensers
