    UPS snake shipping
I've heard that UPS is going to start to accept snake shipments again. Does anyone know any more about this? Do we have to get certified (like Fed Ex?) The website www.ups.com still says that they do not accept snakes.

I think I would prefer fed-ex way more than UPS. UPS for me is unreliable, they are late 60% of the time, and a few items I have bought online have been lost in Transit by UPS.

Is UPS shipping cheaper than Fed-Ex?

I'm not looking for 3rd party shipping. I want UPS to come to my house, pick up a box and it be at my customer's house by 10am the next day...just like Fed Ex....

So far this is the only thing I have heard of is what is going on between Pro Exotics and UPS, will it be available otherwise without having to go through a third party I would think and hope so.

UPS is ships on a who's who basis. They ship for some and not others. I used to use UPS exclusively because they are 2 minutes from my house. When I first started shipping the average was around $25 guaranteed by 10:30 am. In all the shipments I had, only one was lost, and actually wasn't lost it was just late. This was one out of many hundreds of shipments. All others were on time.

I have been using Fed Ex for about 2 years now because of the skyrocketing rates of UPS. That average $25 shipment went to around $70 and that was 2 years ago. My average shipment with Fed Ex is around $50 now.....but has been as little as $28 for overnight by 10 am. I know of several other well known breeders that use UPS, but most have switched to Fed Ex because of their "agreement" to ship animals.

Ive had tons of reptiles shipped UPS and prefer them way over fedex IMO. In my part of two fedex is always late and ive had alot of problems with them. It all depends on your area.

I feel in my area ups is more reliable. I get shirts shipped to me everyday and I can set my clock by the ups truck. when I order snakes there is no telling when fedex will show up. Never by 1030 and as late as 4 or 5. Wait on a snake til 4 or 5!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad:
