    Big Hide Help
So my big boy has destroyed his 5th hide in a year. Well, I have made a patchwork version using duct tape to hold it together but I know that won't last. I tried finding a cat litter box that would fit in the tank but at the same time not be to small for him that I could cut a whole in to. Well, I really couldn't find one. The only one I found big enough was about an inch to wide to fit.

So I am thinking about going going to my dad's and making a custom one out of wood.

But before I go to the trouble to you guys have any suggestions?

    He's 5' 5" and > 3400 grams.

    Thanks.

Wow! They have extra large now! I have hope at least. Last I looked large was the largest size.

I have been using my size 12 shoe boxes. They are pretty sturdy at first but after a while he just wears them down. And I am out of shoe boxes now. :)

Go to Walmart they have small cat litter pan that will work for him.

If not walmart try target, petsmart, petco etc or online

If a cat litter pan can fit in a 32 quarts tub it can fit in a tank.

I think the large size is bigger than the size 12 shoe box just not as high, I'm not sure if you've tried a large and had it be to small. On a side note the snakes really seem to enjoy that offset entrance hole too.

Yes, the problem with the large is it's too short. When he curls up he's over 3.5 inches.

I like to use five gallon buckets like sheet-rock joint compound comes in. Black ones work great. Just cut the bottom off at the desired height flip upside-down and cut a hole with a hole-saw. I find they tend to prefer round hides to square ones.
