    Tank ?
Would a 40gal long tank be too large for an adult female ball of average size?

    Thanks!

40 gallon seems a little large. For an average adult, you can go with a 20g long. Some people might argue that you need bigger but I personally don't think you do.

It depends on the girl. For a lot of snakes, I would say it's a tad large...but for my big girl (2076+g) it's just about right. But then, she really loves to move around and lift her head high. :)

Ive got an 85 gallon for my ball python, might as well let him live the high life, I think he enjoys all the room he can call "home"

85 gallons is waaay to big! Is your ball python eating regularly and shedding successfully?

I wish to know as well. I went hog wild with insulation and such on my 40g breeder tank, and I can't imagine anything larger holding heat or humidity properly without a TON of tweaking and daily maintenance!

I have my adult male in a 40 Gal tank. His hides won't fit in anything smaller  he's a fatty :P It is nice and cluttered so he feels secure. He eats, poops and sheds just fine. I would say it all depends on the snake and how you set-up the tank. As long as there is not too much open space to stress her out, you should be golden ;) Of coarse that is just my humble opinion.
