    newbie questions..
I was just wondering how you know when your snake is ready to breed. Is it like a certain time of the year that they breed or can it be at any time? we recently adopted a 10 year old female and she is definitley big enough to breed but i wasnt sure if they only breed at a certain time or how you know. Or is she to old to breed?

Well, she's not too old to breed. I have a 22 year old Ball that gave me a clutch last year. Most breeders start the process in the Fall, but really they can breed any time.

If you do decide to breed, make sure you can take care of a large clutch and you have everything prepared in advance.

Oh wow that's so cool! I'm so excited! I'm just new to the whole breeding type stuff. We have a young normal female and a male spider that I want to pair when they get older. I'm going to start getting everything ready then so our friend can bring over his big male. He's just a normal but it's still very exciting! Thanks everyone

Oh don't worry it's not going to happen for awhile. I need to get everything set up and figure out how to do everything. When it comes to this stuff I'm clueless so I'm gonna be reading up on it for awhile. Any advice on how things should be done or what I'll need and what to do is greatly appreciated.

Ah, ok. Somehow when I read the sentence about you getting things ready so your friend could bring over his male, it sounded like you were going to spend the afternoon getting ready, and your friend would bring over the male this evening. Obviously I read in something that was not there.

I probably worded it wrong I'm just excited. LoL I want to make sure that we are fully prepared with everything we need before we start breeding. Are there any really good books that explain everything in detail that I could maybe pick up?

BP's normaly breed in the winter but you can breed them any time of the year. you just have to fool them and make them think its winter. and BP's can live to be 20 so really shes not all that old.
