wooden tops for tank ??s

I love my glass tanks and so do the girls. I'm going to enclose them 3 sides in wood, but am wondering about the top. I use UTHs, so no lamps but what size ventilation would I need to leave on the top? It will have a layer of screen so that I can add greenery underneath it and for the vent part.
