    Clicking - Possible RI
:snake:Recently I realized my BP had no heat for two days; failed CHEs. I replaces them and he seems somewhat more active now but he is about to shed so he's not overly active. I had him out just now to check on him and see if there were any complications from his cold snap and I heard some clicking near his head. I am worried he as a possible RI and I am not sure what to do, I know I will have to call the vet on monday and probably go there if the vet says so. Until then what can I do? I know its typical to put them on news paper and lower the humidity, but I also know they need humidity during a shed.... I would like to hear some recommendations.

Also, I actually own a stethescope and was wondering if that can be used to confirm an RI.

    Temp - Mid 80's
    Humidity - 75
    Subsrate - cocoafiber

I would up the temps about 5 degrees. And see a Vet if you continue to see signs of RI.

    Hi,

I wouldn't do anything until after the shed - that can cuse the nostrils to become congested and mimic the RI sounds.

However you luckily have the exact instrument needed for the next test. :D

I would use the stethescope to see if the noises are only coming from the nostrils or if you can hear any pop's, clicks, or crackles coming from the lungs.

Since those couldn't be caused by the shed they would confirm you needed to set up a vet visit. :gj:

And I thought I'd only be using them for measuring blood pressure in humans. Thanks!

Del where exactly are the lungs on these beasts? I'm guessing you would measure from the belly side but how far down from the head?

    Hi,

I'm not sure if you get a better result listening from the sides or the bottom to be honest - no one has ever let me play with their stethescope. **pouts**

    This wiki page seems to have a nice clear drawing;

I know I can see the heart beating on my male so that might be a good marker to find. :)

    Hi,

    Any update on this?

Was it an RI or the shed?
