    Nicaraguan or Guatemalan boa???
Hi everyone, thought I'd start a new post and find out what everyones opinion is on these two boas...

I am purchasing a male Nic or Guatemalan in 2 weeks at the local reptile show. I've picked these two options because of size.... my main concern and reason for this thread and poll is to choose the most docile of the two. I know I know that every snake is different and you never know what you're really getting... but I was curious if one or the other is more likely to be aggressive and nippy... as per your experiences?

I am really looking for a snake that can be handled, I don't really feel like getting tagged everytime i change his paper or water dish... lol

    Thanks sooo much!

Well lets just say our adult nic is named damian for a reason. But my baby is a sweat heart. Nics are kind of hit or miss for personality. I have a friend who breeds nics and he says its purely the individual snake that is either mean or nice. So im undecided if nics are nice or not.

I'm starting to hear more and more that Nic's seem to have a good chance of being... how do I say "nippy"? :weirdface

Is that the case with most dwarf boa's? Or is there one type of BCI boa that is a dwarf that is usually (I understand there is always an exception to the rule) more docile?

I wish this decision was easy haha

I think the main problem is most are imports that you see. If you go to a breeder of them and pick out a snake thats captive bred then you increase your chance of a non nippy snake. besides you will be able to see personality. I like my nics. Seems as though the ones we got at an older age were more nippy than the ones we have raised since a baby.
