what happened?
i walked into my room and saw my florida kingsnake acting funny. he was on his back and i put him on his belly and then on his water bowl. after that i left him alone and watched him. he seemed to be twisting and turning, like he's constricting himself. like aminute after that he opened his mouth and kept twisting and turning. almost like he was having a seizure......
he's still alive but barely moving, i dont think he'll make it through the night. anyone else experience this or know what might've happened?

Re: what happened?
I'm sorry, I hope he pulls through.
While I doubt this helps explain anything, I saw my rescue Sinaloan do something similar. A pet store employee had purposely stepped on him after he escaped. They figured a dead snake was better than a loose one. A friend brought him to me (still alive), I tried nursing him back to health, but he sadly only lived a few days.
I walked in the room finding him thrashing all over the place, rolling on his back and breathing quite heavily. He'd also twist around himself and squeeze, and lay on his back with his mouth open and twisted. It took him a little over 20 minutes. He went lethargic and passed.
I think they are just going through the final motions. I'm not sure it really explains the cause of the illness. Sometimes, they just aren't meant to make it.
If you are confident in all of you husbandry, positive he didn't ingest anything he shouldn't have, etc. You might want to take him to a veterinarian in the morning, either for a checkup or a necropsy. They could explain cause of illness/death.
I'm sorry if I was graphic..and I hope he does pull through.

I was thinking the same thing as Michelle C. as I read your post. I'm by no means an expert, and normally I wouldn't respond, but I just wanted to pass along my condolences for having to witness what you did. I wish you and your snake the best. Good luck.

Re: what happened?
Best thing to do is get him to a vet that knows reptiles as soon as you can. Assuming of course that he has made it this long. Even if he hasn't might be worth having a necropsy done just to rule out something in the environment. I hope he is still alive and "kicking" if not, sorry.

Re: what happened?
I hope he makes it. I would suggest a vet as well.

Re: what happened?
I'm so sorry for your loss. :( Are you going to take the body in for a necropsy?
