Plexiglas thickness for a BP terrarium
Hello,
I'm planning to build a terrarium for my BP, made of wood (top and floor)and plexiglas (walls) of dimensions 48x24x24. I was wondering about the thickness of the plexiglas, should it be 1/4 inches, 3/16, or bigger/smaller?
Thank tyou for your answer.

Not that it's any of my business but aren't you kind-of just building an aquarium with a wooden bottom. If anything I would put the plexiglass on the bottom where the moisture will be rather than the sides.

I havn't thougth of that... But wood with an epoxy coating will do just fine... no?

What are the dimensions of your pieces of acrylic?

I suppose that would work. But then I would be concerened with fumes from the epoxy and any scratch or crack could let moisture rest between the epoxy and the plywood. Probably not a huge deal but it just seems like a lot of work when you could probably just find a used 20 gallon long tank on Craig's List or in your local paper for next to nothing.

Right... As for the epoxy, once dry, there is no fumes. And for the 20 gal tank, of course I can buy one. Nevertheless, I like this challenge for me to buid my custom enclosure, with a front door.

Sorry, I just assume everyone is as lazy as me. Sounds like a fun project. You'll have to post some pictures when it's done!
