Re: Best Nesting Material?
Aspen is going to be good enough nesting material. No need to spend any more money than you need to.

Thanks! I kinda figured that much...because they like to burrow in it, you'd think they would nest in it too...
Thanks again!
Re: Best Nesting Material?
You can give them a bit of paper towel to shred up. I've got a few girls who love to shred those.
Re: Best Nesting Material?
i use the paper towel cardboard tube that works great got a seprate bag in bathroom to collecting them
Re: Best Nesting Material?
I provide mine with a little toilet paper roll or two and the Petco box they came in but I cut a little hole for them and cut off the top so it's like a little hide for them. Then, I stick in a few sheets of toilet paper so they can move it all around and nest in it however they like.
Re: Best Nesting Material?
i dont give mine anything but pine bedding, food, and a water bottle

Thats how I do it now too, but before that I would use 3 or four sheets of toilet paper for them to build a nest out of.
Re: Best Nesting Material?
I don't think this qualifies as "best", but I give mine shredded newspaper for building nests. Most of the colonies seem to like it. A few end up burying it under the equine fresh pellets.
