    Homemade snake hook
The snake stick cost all about under $10.00 to make (I’d like to think it’s my own creation but I’m sure other people have thought of it to.)
1x metal golf club handle(picked up about 10 at a flee market dollar per handle.)
    1x 4inch screw-in ladder hook
1x tube of jb weld (this is some strong stuff.) don’t need much
    1x roll of electrical tape
Reminder: I only used this for hook training my albino Burmese python I really don’t hook her to pick her up.

Full pic of the snake stick (sorry if photo are bad) it pretty strong and does the job really good can hold up the strength of a cinder block…

I used a 4 inch red ladder hook I found at walmart , I liked the red ones, not sure if snakes are colored blind but red makes me think he/she can see it better. What I did was wrap some jb weld around the threads of the hook and then screwed it in to the open end of the golf club . I let it sit for about an 30 minutes to let it cure. Then wrapped electrical tape around it o cover up and sharp edges. Wasn’t sure how strong it will be but I step otside and used it on a cinder block with no bending or breaking . Tested it on he snake and she responded well with it … hope you enjoyed my like creation.

    Thanks Jason

I actually found a MUCH easier way to make a snake hook... go to any hardware store, buy a paint roller, and get the roller off :D

A snake hook quite sturdy, but maybe not good enough for a large burms...

those hooks are nice since they got a plastic coating on them so not sharp edges . you can buy a similar material called plastic dip and using an old brush coat the lower end to keep the tap from coming undone later on..

I got mine at a show. I think I paid $15 and I didn't have to do anything.
