pink underbelly? :/

hey, tonight i heald my 8 month old female ball
and her whole underbelly seemed pinkish. it usually is a perfect pearly white
hmmm so i am a bit unsure.

also, is it cool to let her cruise around my bedroom? like on the couch etc?

(ps-she fell off my hand tnite and i freaked because i thought they couldn't "fall"
because they r so conscious of their muscles etc. it scared me :[)


any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

How long have you had this snake for?

Pink belly just means she is going into shed (unless of course, and I will assume not, it is belly burn).

Do not let your snake loose. It is very easy to loose track of them and you can risk an accident or fatality.

Part of being a "good" keeper is a being a mindful keeper, and that means knowing where your snake is at all times and protecting them from injury. This includes handling sessions. They have great muscle control, but they do not have hands... legs... etc... you get the idea. They have to compensate for your movement, and they are just not equipped for this.

Some of the saddest posts I ever read are a person letting their snake loose and someone runs into a room and steps on the snake. :(

They can cruise so to speak but you must keep an eye on her at all times, and yes they can fall, they are ground dwellers for the most part.

thank you, i've been checking out the articles,
but is there something i need to do about the envirnoment
of the cage? like mist it? i have reptile bark, so i am concerned it wont be moist
enough for her?

Read the caresheets thoroughly, compare it to your environment, and come back with specific questions regarding any differences between what you have and what is suggested.

These are not random suggestions, your BP needs specific temps and humidity, and you (as a keeper) need to be able to monitor and control those.

All of this info should be in the CARESHEET stickie in the husbandry forum.

I have read through the caresheet information.

my humidity usually remains at 40 degrees. which is not enough.
i have seran wrap over the top, it doesnt really help.

what do you suggest I do to bump up the humidity to 65ish?
I read about putting a moist cloth inside? misting?

im worried. it's my first time :/
and how often will she shed?
