    pegboard lid on glass tank...
i don't know where i heard this but someone said you can use pegboard for a lid on a glass tank and it will keep the humidity in better as anyone used this before and what would be the best way to put lighting in it...

I have never used it before but I think using peg board could be potentially hurtful. The peg board is made of a wood-ish material unless its water treated it could get moldy because of the constant humidity. What you can do is Lowes sells sheets of acrylic realitivly cheap. You can get a 24x18 1\4 inch think piece for about 20$ (rounded up to the high price I paid 13.99$ in CO). Just get a drill and drill in some holes. Not too many but a good amount so that you have some ventilation. Works great on my set up. And it was cheap!

Pegboard is not a good idea. It could swell up and stick, and doesn't really keep moisture in the tank.

The two best options for glass tank lids are plexiglass and foil treating the screen top. Those are the tried and proven methods that get the best results thus far. I even have a picture tutorial on foil treating screen lids if you'd like. :)

Paper and towels absorb more moisture than they give off eventually. They're great for boosts and temp. fixes, but to really keep humidity stable the plexiglass, glass, or foil are the best bets. :)

I just use the kinda heavy duty vinyl like a greenhouse material kinda stuff. It works well for temps & humidity.
