    Her vent is red...
I am not sure if this is normal or not. I have a 1 and a half year old ball python, my only snake as of now. She's shedding and I noticed her vent was a bit red. I couldn't remember if it was like that the last times she shed or not, and I have no other snakes to compare her to. She seems normal otherwise. Is it normal or should I be concerned?

PS first post here, I'm sure you'll be seeing more of me and my little girl~ I take a lot of photos of her. Her name is Hyori by the way.

    See you

As long as it is just red, keep an eye out for any changes.

I'm thinking its just irritation from being in shed, and will go away.

If it doesn't in the next couple of days, please take her to a vet.

Thank you, I definitely will take her to a vet if it stays. She's a daughter to me, I can't let her get sick!

    I'll update later, anyways.

Around the vent is very sensitive, it could be from the shed, as stated above just keep an eye on her for any worsening changes.

As Heather noted, it is probably just irritated. Many of my snakes routines leave small blood smears when they shed from their vents.

    Keep an eye on it.

    And did you say pictures????

Pictures are MANDATORY of snakes in here. :D

Thank you everyone! She shed yesterday and I checked her vent this morning. It's totally back to normal, so I guess you guys were right, just irritated. ^_^

Alright, I will look for some pictures of her to post. I'll be making a thread~
