    Care to hazard a guess?
    Hi,

    I was checking on the snakes tonight and caught Natasha lying in this position in the middle of a thoroughly wrecked tank :rolleyes: ;

    http://satanswombat.googlepages.com/natashayoga1.jpg

    She is sitting half on half off the warm end flexwatt.

    She last ate on the 16th of January, last shed about the 11th of January (for some reason I haven't recorded when she shed just when I noticed she was in blue (the 4th January ) and the last confirmed lock I have seen was 10th November 2008 (with the normal male) though I have been putting in the little lesser male and the normal male on a regular basis - but have never seen the lesser locked at all. :(

    Would anyone care to hazard a guess where she is in the breeding cycle?

    I haven't even started cooling yet as I was planning on trying for a late season and using the extra time to make sure everyone was at a nice weight - and coincidently give the lesser time to mature a bit more. :oops:

    Should I still go ahead with cooling the rack later or would it possibly cause problems?

    She may be building. I would cycle the lesser. From what I have noticed the young ones dont lock for very long(kinda like people) making it hard to catch. If you use a paper substrate sometimes you can see a snail trail with a little blood which is a good sign there was some knock down drag out action;)

    Hope babies are brewing for ya:gj:

    Hiya, I own an '08 sibling of your Lesser also bought from CPR around the same time as you bought your boy and he had also been 'just a lad' ;) until earlier this week. My boy is 725 grams + one rat now :) and so remembering that your lad was well up to size and growing brilliantly, I would think that he is also about ready.

    I tried the ol' jealousy trick. Put him in with a female who had just finished breeding with a Spider male, he he he, that got my lad growing up mighty fast.... The locks were only of about one hours duration, but repeatedly performed :rolleyes:

    Natural light from a window, temps = usual heat pad temps, room temps about 80 during the day, down to about 74 during the night. Hope that they both manage to fire more than just blanks for us this season. :)

    OOOO,

    My guy must have been slacking - I just weighed him (after a nice stinky poop ) and he is only 499g. :O

    I thought he was closer to 600. :oops:

    It's probably because he no longer wants to eat when he's in shed the way he did when he was younger. I've tried talking to him about it but he just rubber ears me. :rolleyes:

    Have you shared any pics of your little guy yet? I'm really curious to see if his colours are changing at the same rate as Elams. :please:

    I'd like to try him with the other girls as well - he would be fine with my middle girl I think but wouldn't the 2600g girl flatten the poor wee mite?

    I might try getting sperm plugs from the normal male and seeing if that gets his juices flowing with the middle girl when the next front comes through. :cool:

    Thank you for the information Derek but I did not really want to know about your personal habits...... :rolleye2:

    Japheth was checked for plugs when he was 644 grams and he was not producing any, that was early this month. He started to do the biz when 725 grams, but may be just fireing blanks of course. I put a thread up on the British forum that we both also use entitled Japheth is a Man. Photo - of my usual lousey standard - on there. Cannot see how to attach photos on here.

    I breed ratties for my snakes, never fancied one myself...... and feed live to those that don't want F/T, so that may explain the snakes growth rate. Either that or they are half African Hippo :D

    Sorry... in a silly mood, better get another cup of tea :weirdface

    Hi,

    Well last night she was on the cool side like this;

    She did eat a jumbo adult mouse last week but is still refusing her normal small rats.

    Here's hoping. :)
