Bringing snakes from US to Canada (not shipping)

Does anyone know about buying a snake in the States and then driving it back across the border to Canada? Does it still require all the same paperwork that shipping it internationally would?

The means of transport does not matter. You are still importing a CITES listed animal into the country. To answer your question, YES, the same paperwork is required.
